Welcome to the Beach Elite SoCal Series - Fall 2023

sponsored by AVP, p1440 & Beach Elite

Fall tournaments are to generate points for AVP and p1440 and rankings within each league

All tournaments are at our beach courts at Brookhurst Street at Huntington State Beach in beautiful coastal Southern California!

INFORMATION, CHECK IN, START TIME:

8:30am check in. First serve by 9am. Pool Play (3-5 teams per pool). Playoffs are single-elimination and entire tournament lasts until early afternoon about 1-3 pm. Pizza, sunscreen and water provided to all athletes! Medals, sponsor prizes also given to top finishers.

POINTS:

Youth Divisions: Divisions with at least 4 teams accrue AVP points to count towards all major AVP events.

AVP MEMBERSHIP:

For 2023, athletes will need a Silver membership to compete in all AVP youth events. Bronze will only be utilized for those participating in a league or junior club. Any athlete competing at a 4-Star junior event or AVP Pro Tour event, including Qualifiers, is required to have a Gold membership. Any member under the age of 18 is required to be linked to a Parent membership. The Basic/Parent membership is free. TOURNAMENT AGE DIVISIONS:

Youth: CLICK HERE
We offer even age number divisions: 18,16,14,12s. Round up to the next division if you have an odd number age definition. For example, if you qualify for 15U then register for 16U. If you are 13U then you'll play in 14U.
Adults: 18+. For division level explanations CLICK HERE

FORMAT (subject to change):

Pool play
3 and 4 team Pools - Games to 28
5+ Team Pools - Games to 21

Play Offs
Top teams will advanced to single-elimination playoffs. Prizes and medals awarded to top finishers
Match play or one game to 28 depending on time and playoff size

PRIZES:

Youth Divisions: Medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place all divisions with 4 or more teams. More prizes TBD depending on sponsor involvement.

PARKING:

Onsite parking is usually $15 a day at the State Beach. We sell Huntington State Beach year passes. Call text 5623707575 for more info.

WEATHER ISSUES:

Event will only be cancelled in the unlikely event of heavy rain, wind, and day-long unplayable conditions. We will email throughout the week with weather info if needed, and the event may be altered to run more quickly if afternoon rain is imminent. If there is a window of playable weather on event day, we'll run during that window by altering start time.

AGE DEFINITIONS:

As of March 6 2023, AVP age definition is as follows:

18 & Under: Athletes graduating high school in 2023 or later.
16 & Under: Athletes graduating high school in 2025 or later.
14 & Under: Athletes graduating high school in 2027 or later.
12 & Under: Athletes graduating high school in 2029 or later.

*These age groups will change on September 1, 2023.

This change will affect a small number of athletes and has been made so those using our events as a tool for recruiting can more easily compare players against peers from their graduating class.

This update does not affect any bids that have already been awarded since bids are not age-specific.

Athletes competing in November at the West and East Coast Championships will need to abide by the updated age requirements as of September 1, 2023.

REFUND POLICY:

Tournaments Cancellations
If a drop occurs prior to a 2 weeks of the event, a refund will be issued minus a $20 non-refundable deposit
if a drop occurs within 2 weeks of the event, no refund will be issued
no processing fee of any credit card transaction will be refunded

Beach Elite tournaments have a great reputation of being fun and competitive. We always have clean music playing and a friendly tournament staff to assist.
