Welcome to AVA Beach Volleyball! A community not-for-profit organization run by two passionate Alki residents for the past 12+ years. AVA has built a community since 2006 in Seattle for all ages and beach volleyball players to enjoy the health benefits of what outdoor beach volleyball and the beautiful Pacific Northwest has to offer. AVA are the leading promoters of beach volleyball events in Seattle, at Alki beach for all levels of play semi-Pro to Juniors. AVA showcases the top talent in the North West region with an exciting beach festival atmosphere at the prime beach in Seattle with thousands of natural spectators. AVA is an ecologically conscious not-for-profit organization that strengthens the local community and economy through healthy outdoor events, activities and by supporting local restaurants and businesses. AVA was founded in 2006 by a group of passionate volleyball players with the goal to unify the North West beach volleyball communities and create a full scheduled series of the highest quality events (from Juniors aged 12-18 through to adult Pro) and in doing so, maximizing opportunities for Seattle parents and players of all ages in the North West. Alki beach has always been the premier location for beach volleyball in Seattle since the late 80’s. The AVA has grown over the past decade to be recognized as the premier branded beach event series in the North West for all divisions. With the highest level competition and largest showcase events in the North West. The atmosphere is a fun outdoor community building experience that influences youths and adults positively in Seattle and the surrounding North West regions. In 2016 AVA expanded to add the spectacular coastal town of Seabrook on the Washington coast by running the largest annual beach volleyball event in Washington state with 100+ teams and 20+ courts. This annual Seabrook event grew the second year (in 2017) by 15% as awareness grew within the volleyball community national wide. With a prize pool of $10,000 for top Open athletes, drawing talent form Canada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California. AVA also offers an annual top Junior coaches clinic and showcase (with UCLA, UW and other top college coaches across the country in attendance). AVA is run by Phillip van Rooyen and Susan van Rooyen since 2006. Continuing a long standing tradition of top beach volleyball events at Alki beach Seattle since the early 90’s.
